Meet Chris Calarco
Chris Calarco has been teaching alignment based yoga since 2010. He is known for creative and thoughtful sequencing, precise cueing language, and a compassionate, grounded presence. He has spent twenty years and well beyond 10,000 hours dedicated to study and practice in the Anusara, Iyengar, Inner Body, and Vinyasa traditions.
In addition to these yoga lineages, Chris incorporates functional movement skills into his yoga classes through his training in the Functional Range Conditioning method. His unique distillation of these styles prioritizes the combination of strength and flexibility in a powerful way. He is skilled at identifying illuminating detail in what seems straightforward and potent simplicity in what first feels overwhelming or complex.
From 2005-2010 Chris was a psychotherapist with children and families. These people centered skills, along with the self-growth it has taken to manage significant episodes of major depression throughout his adult life combine to give Chris a unique ability to creative a potent container for self exploration in his teaching.

Chris has spent countless hours studying yoga since 2005. His primary teachers are Todd Jackson, Christina Sell, and Sianna Sherman. All three began their studies in Iyengar Yoga, before branching off through practice and teaching to expand and refine their offerings. He met Sianna through his study of Anusara Yoga and was lucky to spend 2012 in an apprenticeship with her, assisting trainings and workshops across the world. He has spent hundreds of hours in person with Christina in advanced trainings and has been studying Inner Body Yoga with Todd since 2011.

Chris' calm, thoughtful voice has guided my practice for more than 10 years. I feel safe and seen and supported in his classes. His teaching is deeply researched and always curious and open. He leads with heart, humility and humor. I'm so grateful for his kind and enthusiastic offerings.
